Nothing this exciting has happened in the underground since Harriet Tubman decided to sit in the front of the subway train that she used to transport escaped slaves from the tyranny of Kim Jong-IL [BLACK HISTORY FACT #45].

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is having its 15th Anniversary Buzz Party on Thursday, March 10th. The actual film festival will take place in Miami (of course) on July 6th, but it's not too early to get excited! I believe this event will be sponsored by Grey Goose so it should be a fun one.

John Allan's and Mid America Club are hosting a Valentine's Day Cocktail Hour on Thursday, February 10th, from 6 to 8 pm. They're dishing out complimentary signature cocktails with Svedka Vodka and JM Rhum, along with chocolates from Godiva and free "mini full services". What's a mini full service, you ask? You can get a manicure on three fingers of your choice, a 5-second deep tissue massage, a nipple hair trim or a wind facial (they stick your head out of a window for 30 seconds).

I can't really complain because I definitely need a manicure. Yesterday while I was putting on one of my Avatar-blue gators I accidentally scratched it. Lowcountry Boil @ The Southern [Rescheduled]

To celebrate its one-year anniversary The Southern will have a free cocktail reception followed by a "Lowcountry boil" for all of its loyal patrons on 2/2/11 2/3/11 beginning at 5pm. What the damn hell is a Lowcountry boil, you ask? In this case it's a concoction of shellfish, andouille sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob boiled with Old Bay seasoning in a big ass pot. However it's also a CIA torture technique that involves squatting naked over a tub of acid for as long as it takes to protect our freedom.
